He was born on May 25, 1982 in Ordu. He completed primary, elementary and high school education in Samsun. He began his wrestling career under the auspices of Hikmet Kesen when he was 11 years old. He began to be interested in Freestyle wrestling in Ankara TEDAŞ Sports Club when was 16 years old. He completed higher education in Konya Selçuk University, Phsycal Education and Sports Academy. He had served for 15 years in wrestling national team.
He became Youth European Champion in 2002 and Elders Turkish Champion in 2003-2004-2005. He got fifth place at Elders World Championship in 2006 and first place at Elder Turkish Championship in 2008.
In Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling, he won the first place at Head category in 2004, 2007 and 2008 years. He got second place at Head category in 2006, 2011 and 2012. He also got third place at Head category in 2013 and 2014 years.
The license number of Kara, 130 kilos in weight and 1.85 cm in length, is 06-001. He is currently a sportsman of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. He has worked as sports training expert at General Directorate of Youth and Sports. He is married and has two children. He declares that his aim is to provide training for next generations.
